Who should take the Energy Efficiency course

  • Operatives who already hold ACS Certificates and wish to extend their knowledge base of high efficiency heating systems and the new Building Regulations.
  • Companies and individuals who install boilers and make changes to heating controls

Why should you take this course?

  • From April 2005, the Building Regulations (Part L1) will mean that if you are install a boiler or making changes to heating control, you must meet new energy efficiency requirements.
  • This means that mainly condensing boilers will be fitted in the near future, and installers have to demonstrate that they can carry out the work and demonstrate thorough knowledge of energy efficiency

What is involved?

  • A study pack will be issued on the course, containing various booklets for your reference
  • A day-long workshop which will include training, this is usually about 8 hours
  • Assessment usually takes around 2 hours
  • All assessments are carried out on computer through the Gola system and results are known within minutes after you have completed the exam.

What's next?

  • On successful completion you will receive a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate>

Impartial assessment testing is undertaken under the control of City & Guilds and is separate from any training
